Kitchen Remodel Inspo + My Insane Excitement

I have been dreaming about remodeling our kitchen since before we ever owned our own kitchen! I remember talking with the hubs about our "non-negotiables" when we were dreaming of buying a home, back in 2010. He was all about location, single story and price. My main concern - the kitchen.

My dream kitchen didn't necessarily have to be in place, but having the ability to remodel as soon as we moved in was huge. And let me tell you, a complete kitchen demo/revamp/remodel was most definitely in order for the 1960's ranch style home we bought in 2013.

Being a Nutritionist, my kitchen is my main squeeze, my office, our gathering place and the place we spend most of my time in our home. BUT. I didn't get my non-negotiable. Well, at least not as soon as I would have liked.

That's ok though and here's why. My taste has changed over the past few years and being in our home for almost 4 years has allowed me to understand what I really want and need within the space, how things flow and of course, my own style.

But here's the thing about this girl and style - I don't really have one. Well, that's not entirely true. I have style, but the ideas don't come to me naturally. I have to see it, already put together or designed and then I know, "I like that" or "not so much".

Last month we decided to take the plunge and make our (but mostly MY) kitchen remodel dreams a reality. With a Maui trip on the horizon, we shot to finish the designing, cabinet ordering and demo before we left for vacay to help cut a week out of the demo disaster. Great decision, but Oh, there has been so much to decide and in a tight time frame!

So Pinterest has been my jam. It has been so helpful in allowing me to pull together the pieces of what I really like when it comes to cabinets, countertops, hardware, lighting and all the other big and little details that go into designing a beautiful kitchen.

Oh, there are so many details.

I wanted to share some of my photo inspiration and pieces I am oogling over. It is still in progress and I am just praying it all comes together smoothly and beautifully.

Progress photos/post to come!

What do you think? Can we pull it off!? We shall see! Until then, what's your favorite kitchen trend? Leave a comment!

Lots of love!
